What is measured during this test?

The Zinzino BalanceTest is a simple, self-administered test designed to analyze fatty acids in capillary blood using the dried blood spot (DBS) method. It involves collecting a few drops of blood from your fingertip and applying them to Whatman® filter paper. The process takes less than a minute. Scientific research confirms that DBS samples are as accurate as venous blood samples for fatty acid analysis.

The analysis is conducted anonymously by VITAS Analytical Services laboratory in Norway. It measures the percentage of 11 fatty acids, which together make up approximately 98% of the fatty acids present in your blood. The results reflect your diet over the past 120 days, corresponding to the lifespan of blood cells.

The test analyzes:

Saturated fatty acids
Omega-9 monounsaturated fatty acids
Omega-6 and Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids

Based on the results, derived indicators are calculated and explained. Thus, upon receiving a detailed 21-page blood test report in Lithuanian, you will not only get the numbers but also comprehensive explanations with personalized dietary recommendations and a live consultation with a doctor in Vilnius or online. The test results will be provided within 7-10 days.

What 6 indicators will be provided in the test?

Find out your body’s fatty acid profile and receive recommendations for improving your results. The fatty acid levels detected during the test are used to calculate 6 different nutritional indicators:

  1. Cell membrane elasticity. It strongly influences metabolism at the cellular level, which in turn affects the functioning of all organs. If the indicator shows a deviation, it means that the consumption of fast-absorbing carbohydrates and energy expenditure are unbalanced. Over time, this can lead to various lifestyle diseases and weight gain. This is particularly common among those with cravings for sweets, flour-based, or potato-based dishes.
  2. Mental performance strength is associated with anxiety, depressive moods, memory, precision of thought, and learning ability.
  3. Arachidonic acid (AA) indicator. This is an essential Omega-6 fatty acid that the body cannot produce on its own, so it must be obtained through food. Arachidonic acid is used in the initial stage of hormone production that regulates physiological inflammatory processes, protecting the body from infections or injuries.
  4. Protection level. A derived indicator that shows whether long-term dietary habits promote inflammatory processes, and consequently acute and chronic diseases, fatigue, and other conditions, or conversely, whether you are well protected.
  1. Omega-3 Index. Omega-3 is an exceptionally important cellular substance. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) dominates in blood, muscles, and tissues, while docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) prevails in the brain, sperm, and eyes. These are the specific acids measured and evaluated in the test. According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), EPA and DHA contribute to maintaining good heart and vascular function. DHA also helps preserve good vision and normal brain function.
  2. Omega-6:3 Balance. It is recommended that the ratio between Omega-6 (AA) and Omega-3 be less than 3:1. Unfortunately, for 95% of individuals taking this test, the ratio is poor—most often between 12:1 and 20:1. In some cases, even worse results are observed, such as 46:1.

If this ratio exceeds 3:1, it promotes and sustains inflammatory processes. This means the development of chronic diseases, more severe symptoms, and faster aging.

Independent Laboratory

Your test is analyzed by an independent and GMP-certified laboratory in Norway. The fact that the Vitas laboratory holds a GMP certificate means they adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices. With 25 years of experience, it is a chemical analysis laboratory offering high-quality chromatographic analysis services based on the latest knowledge and technologies.

Each blood test includes a BalanceTest ID, visible only to you. Neither the laboratory nor anyone else knows who submitted the test. By entering your BalanceTest ID on the website zinzinotest.com, you can view your results. By completing the questionnaire, you gain access to the full analysis. If you do not fill out the questionnaire, you will only see your balance result.

Capillary Diagnostics

Our specialists perform capillary diagnostics at our Vilnius office (Čiurlionio 7). Capillaroscopy is a method that allows for a visual examination of capillaries throughout a person’s lifetime. The procedure is carried out using a special device called a capillaroscope. This type of examination can detect various capillary changes related to circulatory disorders.

Capillaroscopy is a significant diagnostic method that provides insights into the condition of blood vessels, identifies internal organ dysfunctions, and examines the principles of blood supply to the brain.

According to medical studies, impaired microcirculation function leads to accelerated aging and the development of various diseases. Over 80% of human ailments are directly related to a disrupted blood microcirculation system. The cost of the examination is only €20.
